The Art Deco style was common in the 1920s and 30s and featured simple, bold, geometric designs and sleek lines.  Its dramatic look is pleasing to the eye even today.                                    Russell W. Porter studied engineering, design, and architecture and was an amateur telescope builder.  In 1928 George Ellery Hale asked him to join the design team for the 200-inch telescope and its dome.                                                                                                               So, its only natural that most of the Palomar Observatory buildings, especially the 200-inch dome, reflect the Art Deco style.

A 5-Pack of these cards is also available for $19.75.
